We certainly enjoyed being on the same course as the big boats from the Chico Yacht Club and the Lake Oroville Yacht Club. Thanks for coming! The course was unusual--start at the buoy pair at the dam, round the "course obstacle" SS Relief, and return to the starting buoys. SS Relief was an obstacle and could be boarded without penalty. Winds were nonexistent in the prestart and about 4 knots on the way down. This gave way to a lull that lasted longest for the Holder 20 and the Raven. Alimar came to the course obstacle under spinnaker. Mike and Kathryn spent several minutes spinning in circles! Finally and briefly, a steady 8 knots that lasted just long enough to get everyone to the finish line is great spirits. A gorgeous, friendly day on a very low Lake Oroville.
